angry airport customs ladt/night farts/straddling/jet lag (blog #4)

hey everyone!!!! this is a quick summary of our trip so far

So we got to the vancouver airport at about 7:30. Matt was already there waiting for us fresh from a week long wilderness trip. We sat around for a bit. Checked in, passed security, watched matt sleep in the fetal position, then boarded our flight (i know...crazyy so far) After flying for about 4 hours in a 2 square area on cardboard seats we went crazy (more explained in our individual assessments). then we sat some more and some more and then finally landed!! we then had to deal with, well matt did, with this crazy angry (or cross as they say here) customs women (who seemed have a problem accepting that matt was a real person, with a real job and birthdate and common sense). Then we sat and waited and sat and waited for our luggage and finally we got it!! then we had to sprint through the london airport and buy a bus ticket to bristol. We made it, literally it was like we were on amazing race. One minute to spare!!!!! So then we sat and slept and sat then we made it! Ali greeted us at the bus stop and then we took a cab to her house. Got ourselves unpacked and then met Pete's brother at his house and had a curry take away. Then we went back and prepared for bed. Me and matt are sharing this tiny fold out couch and well we had just eaten indian food - yes it can irritate the bowels and yes it did. Turns out I have chronic night farts (and so does matt) snoring and I snuggled up to matt quite frequently through the night. Needless to say mallory had a mediocre sleep and me and matt removed all the wallpaper from the room we were in. We then showered and walked to this really cool farm in the city and had a delicious breakfast in a really really funky restaraunt almost dr suess like. After that we walked back to Pete and Ali's and then we headed out to Clifton. We got invited to this really cool underground kinda museum/excavation site of an old underground railway that ran up this steep hill. After that we grabbed a drink and some appetizers. Then we walked back through Clifton and back to Pete and Ali's. They made us a delicious meal and here we are. We are headed to Dublin tomorrow for a week and then to Edinburgh. More to follow!!

  2. Is this Matt guy an imaginary friend? Sure haven't heard much from him yet. Anyways, have fun, and take care of Matt. Like most imaginary friends, he tends to wander off and can get lost at times.

    Keep up the postings!
